Best Protection in the World

From the design of the so-called unsinkable ship “RMS Titanic” to the modern-day invention of safety airbags in cars, throughout history mankind has always sought to achieve perfect protection. But even after all these years of engineering-brilliance have we truly achieved the elusive ‘perfect protection’?

Before going into the heart of the subject matter, let us walk through the pages of history and briefly re-visit some of the tragedies that grabbed the world’s attention.

Road Transport

On 31st August 1997 a Mercedes (W140 S-Class) car carrying the Princess of Wales, Diana met with an accident in Paris, France. Diana sustained injuries and later died in a hospital. This specially-engineered vehicle had at least eight advanced safety systems including anti-lock brakes, electronic safety program and air bags. However, none of the passengers survived.

Air Transport

On 8th March 2014 Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 bound for Beijing disappeared after departing from Kuala Lumpur with over 200 people on board. Numerous theories about the disappearance have been proposed. With no conclusive evidence, all passengers on board are believed to have stepped into eternity.

Water Transport

On 15th April 1912 the unsinkable luxury ship, RMS Titanic, struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. Although equipped with advanced security and safety features such as remotely activated watertight doors and watertight compartments, water gradually filled up the ship and eventually sank into the bottom of the ocean killing more than 1,500 people. The word Titanic was itself an attack on God. In Greek mythology Titans were a race of people who fought against God. So the word Titanic was given in honour of the Titans. One sailor opined, “Aren’t we tempting God by naming this ship the Titanic.” It was an expression of man’s arrogance and rebellion against God.

If one thing history has taught us through the above disasters, it has taught us that putting our trust in man-made things is not always the wisest thing to do.

The Unseen World

Someone very rightly said that there are more things to see in the unseen-world than there are to see in the seen-world.

This is a true story of Alicia (not her real name) who was a former witch and high priestess of a Satanist group called ‘The Brotherhood’. In one of her last gatherings with the group, the high priest (leader) told them that there was a Christian family close by who had been a hindrance to Satan. The high priest told the group that they were to go in their spirit bodies and murder them. So the group sat in a circle with lit candles and consciously left their physical bodies, going in their spirits (the term used for this practice is “astral projection”) to the house to kill the entire family.

Surprisingly, as they arrived at the house of this family, they were unable to move forward. The entire area was surrounded by massive angels standing side by side. Any weapon used against the angels merely rebounded off of them leaving them completely unharmed. As Alicia looked at the angels, one of them looked into her eyes and said in a loving voice, “Won’t you please accept Jesus Christ as your Lord? The path you are taking leads to destruction. Satan really hates you; however Jesus loves you very much that He died for you“. This was the last straw for Alicia. Pretty soon she quit Satanism.

The family would have had no clue of the battle raging outside their house. And yet it’s very real. However, not every family has angelic protection over their houses.

The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) that, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Divine Protection

Here are three simple steps that all of us can take to have divine protection over our lives

  1. Accept Jesus as your personal saviour and have a reverential fear toward Him. Psalm 34:7 (NIV) says, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” In Job 1:8-10 (NIV) it says, “Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.”
  2. Plead the blood of Jesus that was shed for you at Calvary over your life, your possessions and your house. If there is one thing Satan cannot stand, it’s the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 (NIV) says, “They triumphed over him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
  3. Memorize Bible verses and use it against Satan. Every single human being on the face of the earth will be oppressed by Satan. When being oppressed it’s so critical to have the Word of God written in our hearts so we are ready to use it as a weapon against him. Jesus himself used the scriptures to fight Satan off when tempted by him in the wilderness. Ephesian 6: 17 talks about the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God and hence the Bible is an offensive weapon against the enemy.

As a disclaimer let me clarify that by merely following the above steps does not guarantee a suffering-free or disease-free life. The Bible says that it is appointed unto man once to die and then face judgement, so there is no escape from this. Jesus also said that in this life you will have trouble, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. You might ask, “So what is the point of living a righteous life?” Well, Proverbs 10: 27 (NIV) says, “The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.”

Only Two Kingdoms

There are only two kingdoms in this world. One is the kingdom of light belonging to Jesus Christ and the other is the kingdom of darkness belonging to Satan. Each one of you reading this article belongs to either one of the two. There is no middle ground or grey area. In Matthew 12:30 (NIV) Jesus said, “Whoever is not with me is against me.”

If you do not belong to Jesus, now is the best time to come to him. Repent of your sins and let the blood of Jesus wash away all your sins and ask Jesus to come into your life. This is the best life insurance policy that you could possibly sign up, because the moment you die and step into eternity, you can have the assurance of entering into heaven forever. To conclude, best protection in the universe is not found in something; it is found in Jesus Christ!!
